SYMPTOM
P1462 - Electrical EGR valve position feedback signal - Derives from the stops memorised in the short term.
Excessive smoke coming out of the exhaust.
Power loss.
Difficulty starting.
CAUSE
The stops memorised in the first Powerlatch are deviated by more than 8% with respect to the position of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve in low stop.
SOLUTION
Repair procedure:
- Check the condition of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve, seizing, dirt, operating parameters.
- Check the condition of the wiring and connectors of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.
- Replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve with a new one.
- Carry out a memorisation of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve with the diagnostic tool.
NOTE: We recommend reprogramming the engine control unit with updated software.
